High Quality Full Carbon paddles made in Raiatea in Tahiti. These paddles offer excellent performance in a wide range of shapes and models. The steering blades feature a single bend full carbon shaft. Both shapes have the Hei Matu graphic which symbolizes safe travels across the water... a great thing for the steersman to represent!
The Bamboo shaft option features the beautiful sunset of Raiatea. A range of colors on the blade face to represent the origin of these paddles.
This blade was designed by world champion steersman featured on Shell Va'a and other prominent racing teams. Optimizing angles, blade shapes, and materials to give a world class feeling while steering big canoes. Both paddles feature a single bend shaft and a 4 degree offset in the blade. The utility in steering with reduced shaft and blade leverages takes priority in the design to keep you running a canoe straighter with less effort.
The blades come in 23cmx58cm (9inx22.8in) and 24cmx54cm (9.4inx21.2in) sizes. The longer skinnier blade gives more command over steering correction with deeper leverages and is a great choice for new steersman in flatwater or taking the canoe into ocean conditions. The shorter wider blade is focused on more forward/angle/draw strokes to control the canoe without fatiguing the steersman as much - ideal for experienced steersman or flatwater/small ocean conditions.
